A RENDER descriptor: how to render objects of one schema. Generalized from a map-layer catalog (v0.1) to any render kind (v0.2) — map | form | card | table | timeline — so every surface (Explorer, the inbox drawer, the case view) is a GENERIC renderer that looks up the viz.layer for an object's source_schema. What's shown is data, not hardcoded. (Clean version of the AirOS LayerDef.)
