Build
What is a component?
A component is the one building block of AirawatOS. Everything you ship โ a data importer, a piece of logic, a screen, a whole service โ is a component. They all follow the same rules: the same way of being described, checked, signed, delivered, and run. Learn it once and it applies everywhere.
The kinds
- Driver โ brings data in from outside and writes it into the shared record book. Example: a driver that reads building footprints from a satellite service.
- Engine โ server-side logic behind an action. It receives a request, reads governed data, and writes a result (a decision, a calculation, a ranking).
- App โ a user interface. It runs in the browser as the signed-in person, with no special powers of its own.
- Solution โ a bundle that lists other components and installs them together, so an agency gets a complete service in one step.
- Agent, model, pipeline, skill โ specialised kinds for AI assistants, trained models, multi-step data jobs, and reusable AI abilities.
Why one block for everything?
Because a tenant then trusts the certificate and the platform โ not your code. Every component, whatever its kind, is signed at publish and its running copy is checked against that signature. Nothing runs that wasnโt published and approved. The Components deep dive explains this in full.
